| - Beautiful dining at the Venetian hotel
My recent trip to Vegas caused me to eat at 3 different French restaurants: Bardot Brassiere, Mon Ami Gabi, and Bouchon. Bouchon brunch was decent, but overpriced for what you get.
First, finding Bouchon is a struggle... It's not located on the casino floor or the canal floor. It's located on the 10th floor that you can get to after going through a warren of hallways (very pretty ones) following signs and up an elevator. However, once you get to Bouchon, it's a fairly airy and light bistro with comfortable seating and friendly service.
We placed an order for the croque madam and chicken and waffles (I've had the southern style many times, let's see how the French style is). After you place your oder, you get their signature French bread (doesn't look like any bread that you've seen... like very small baguettes put together). The bread was decent, but the best part is the amazing butter that comes with it as well as the strawberry jam (it was so spreadable and delicious).
The croque madam was ok... it was fairly greasy but lacking flavor (I had to use quite a bit of the amazing dijon mustard that was at the table). The fries were also good, I couldn't resist dipping them in the strawberry jam. The chicken and waffles were good.. chicken was roasted very well and had great flavour. The gravy that came with it was interesting, not sure if I'm a huge fan but it gave it some additional complexity. Also the chunks of pork in it were very delicious as well. The waffles were savory (chive and sourdough?) and came with some syrup. They were decent, I think the syrup threw me off but the waffle itself had good flavor and texture.
Overall the meal was decent but still pricey. Not sure if I'd dine here again in the future (or attempt different options).
