Stopped in for a recent happy hour with a large group of people. The reservations were made in advance with this restaurant & how many people to expect. One would assume they would have adequate staff to attend to a large party...nope. Ended up getting sat on the patio in the middle of August during monsoon season. No rain but humid. Had sweat dripping down the side of my face for the 1st hour. Ugh. They do not have ceiling fans, misters or anything to keep you cool on the patio. I understand that it's $ to get that stuff but at least get some free standing large fans to help cool people down if you're going to sit them on the patio. And the flies on the patio were unreal. I have never had such an issue with flies in the 8+ years living in Vegas. These flies didn't care if you swatted them away...they came back for more & would not stay away. Gross.
Now on to the food & service. Holla to the Yelper's that mentioned the free sake bomb w/ Yelp check-in. 1st drink was free. Their review stars just went downhill after that. Service was so horribly slow to get food or drinks. They only had 1 person waiting on like 20 on the patio. One of the people with me had to ask 3 times for their check & still never received it but finally went & stood in front of the hostess stand to get their attention to pay her bill. Others kept asking about their food & when it was coming out. I ordered the Rock N Roll roll (Assorted Fish, Gobo, Kaiware, Avocado, Crab; Out: Cucumber, S.O. Sauce on the Side). For the price they charge for this roll it's not worth it. $14.50 for fake crab on the inside. All the "assorted" fish were tiny pieces all standing on their ends on the end of the roll rather than being layered over each piece of the roll. This roll is more about presentation than anything. We did not try their habachi grills but the menu seemed expensive (almost the same as Benihana prices). I might give them another shot by going for a happy hour with a couple of friends but doubtful it would ever be for a meal as their prices seem pretty expensive.
