I still have yet to check out Canter's Deli in LA, but I've eaten at the TI location for a few times now. Nothing memorable, just a whole lot of pastrami or corned beef stuffed between two slices of rye bread. Prices are in line with Vegas, $15-20, given the amount of meat included.
On this last trip, I was starving and settled for a sandwich. The thinly sliced corned beef was severely dry and bland. It seemed like the meat had been sitting out, with all the natural juices and moisture being sucked out. The saving grace was the packets of mustard which provided some much needed flavor.
The included cole slaw was bad. It just had a weird, off-putting flavor. I took a little bite and thew it out. At least the pickle was alright, nice and crisp. Next time, I'll gladly pay the money and take the time to head over to Earl's in Planet Hollywood if I'm craving some sandwiches--at half the price, no less.
