  • I've been to most of the other gyms in the city, and I have keep going back to Rock Oasis. The walls were taller at the old place, but they make up for the lack of vertical with complex routes, so a 5.10B at Rock Oasis will be equivalent to a 5.11- or + at True North. The place went through some growing pains in terms of facilities when it first opened. With some recent renovations: more bathrooms, added showers, AC, etc... it's really settling in. A few things I have to say about them that set them apart- they change their routes regularly. If you have a beloved 5.10 overhang- climb the shit out of it while you can because it'll be gone next week, and you'll have a new 5.10 to play on. Great atmosphere- super helpful staff who wants to keep everyone safe as opposed to impose weird rules that you have no idea why, ample parking, not far from downtown or the highway, they'll change the music if you want- just ask. Once in a while, me and my climbing partner say "Hey- let's go check out another gym." but we always end up coming back home to Rock Oasis in the end.
