| - Los Compadres is my favorite meat market in town. This place is small. It's tucked away in a small strip center on Tropicana right before Mtn. Vista on the right hand side, if you are heading East. It's across the street from Cardena's, but I promise you it is soo much better. I always get the diezmillo preparado, which is sirloin steak marinated in their spices and sauce. It is really good, but can be a bit pricey. Sometimes they have sales though, you just have to check. They also have really good marinated chicken, that is usually less than $2 a pound. All you need is a grill and you are good to go.
I get couple cans of beans, queso fresco, fresh guacamole and tomatillo salsa. You can find these in the refrigerated case on the right when you first walk in. Grab a bag of their corn chips, and tortillas, both made in house, and you are all set for a delicious bbq.
If you aren't in the mood to cook, they have a hot food section where you can get meats and sides that are already prepared.
And don't forget to hit up the bakery on your way out. They have my favorite pan dulce, which is sweet bread. Also cookies and single slices of cake, including tres leches. Yumm-o!
