| - I chose Embassy Suites for our recent stay for my brother's 21st birthday because I found a great deal on Groupon, free shuttle to Planet Hollywood, free breakfast, and complimentary evening reception! Plus, I love the layout and size of Embassy Suite's rooms!
I'm pretty sure we were given a handicap accessible room now that I'm looking at other Yelper's pictures. Our room did not have a door separating the bedroom and living room. Our bathroom seemed extra spacious, had handrails near the toilet and in the shower, and even had a telephone. We never requested a handicap accessible room, was never advised we would be in one, but we didn't mind either way. It was clean and perfect for 4 people! Super comfy beds, lots of space to put your things, lots of table space for drinks and whatnot, small fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron+board, 2 flat screen tvs, and free parking.
The only complaint I have about the room we stayed in was that the tub drained soOoOoOOOOOoooo slow!! Yes, it was unplugged and you can hear water going down ever so slowly. Also, there wasn't a shower vent fan thing so you'll be in a steamy sauna once you're done! We had to take showers with the door open!
We LOVED the free breakfast! There is a line to order fresh cooked omeletes, hashbrowns, pancakes, and bacon! Don't forget to leave a tip for the cooks! On top of that, there is a variety of juice, sodas, toast, bagels, pastries, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, coffee!!!! After a night of drinking, it's so awesome be able to have to just go downstairs and get food!
This location is not on the strip. The free shuttle was also a fantastic perk that we took full advantage of. It's cheaper than a cab, so don't forget to tip the driver!! You get dropped off and picked up from Planet Hollywood. One time, we mentioned that we were going to get a cab from Planet Hollywood to MGM and the driver was kind enough to take us to MGM since we were the only ones on the bus! It runs from 6am - 9:30pm. I posted a picture of the details.
We didn't partake in the complimentary evening reception. We did pass by it and saw goldfish crackers and chips as snacks.
ALL of the staff members were friendly and greeted you whenever you walk by the front desk. During check in, I was chatting with one of the managers (whose name I don't remember) about how it was my brother's 21st birthday and he gave us free tickets to shows at Planet Hollywood! I'm sure you can ask for them! We didn't end up going, but it was a kind gesture.
On our first night, it was way past 9:30pm so the shuttles were no longer running. We asked Allen at the front desk for a cab. He called someone on his cell phone and told us we would be picked up in an Escalade "at the price of a taxi." The driver's name was Amir (I think) and the ride to MGM was pretty fun.. loud music that he would jam out to. For 4 of us, the ride was $25 + $5 tip. We took a cab from MGM back to Embassy for $10.. soooo definitely not the price of a cab!!!! Beware when asking the front desk guys for a ride, unless that's what you want!
There is a CVS in a small shopping center at walking distance!
I'm very happy with our stay, overall. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for anyone who wants a good deal!
