  • My husband and I often do staycations at the Aliante as it's very quiet for the most part, off the strip, the accommodations are always clean and comfortable and you can often find great Groupon offers. Plus the Aliante doesn't have the overwhelming stench of smoke like some of the older off-strip casinos. There is a more upscale restaurant, MRKT, Mexican food at Salted Lime, as well as some popular choices like TGI Friday along with the food court & buffet options. There is also a movie theater in case you're not the basking-in-the-blazing-sun-by-the-pool type. They have a full gym complete with machines, free weights and cardio machines. Additionally, they now have a spa so you truly can enjoy the resort experience. Our most recent visit was a three night stay for my birthday and for the most part it was very enjoyable... but there were certainly some things they could improve upon so here are some pro's & con's of our recent vacation: Upon arriving, we were waiting in valet.. and waiting. Finally an attendant came to give my husband his claim ticket but offered no help with the luggage and there was no cart to transport our luggage to the room. Amazing how something so simple as having a bell hop to elevate the feeling of "arriving" was just completely overlooked. Certainly didn't make us feel like we were arriving at a Four Diamond AAA-rated resort. Nonetheless, check in was simple and we quickly headed off to our room which was modern, clean and comfortable. They certainly made good use of the space and the décor was nice with dark wood built-ins, blackout shades and accents that were not obnoxious like some resorts. There was a large flat panel TV, built in draws, along with a fridge. Really the only thing missing was a small microwave. The bathroom had a nice large walk-in shower however no door separating the toilet for privacy. Even though we were in & out of the room throughout the day, housekeeping still managed to get in to tidy up the room. For my birthday dinner we ate at MRKT which is a more upscale restaurant. Our server was very polite & attentive. I indulged in the seafood platter as my meal while my husband had a bone-in steak. Really the only complaint was that although he ordered his steak well done, after a few bites from the outer portion of the steak it was mostly medium rare in the center. Nonetheless, they did let me select a free dessert for my birthday. We also took advantage of the spa--we got the sugar scrub along with a couples (Swedish) massage and it was truly relaxing & invigorating. Money well spent. I do wish that they had a co-ed area for couples to relax while awaiting services though. We ordered room service for our breakfasts which wasn't an issue until the last day - we were very specific asking if the omelets came with shredded hash browns or home fries as every morning it seemed to be different and I don't particularly like home fries. The young lady taking our order was very insistent that they were shredded hash browns. Needless to say when our meals arrived it was home fries. I quickly dismissed it until we unwrapped our napkins to only find thick steak knives--no forks! So, I called room service and was told they would bring us silverware. Fortunately, we had some plastic forks from some take-out because the young lady didn't call back until about 25 minutes later saying she was on her way up. Really? 25 minutes later for a couple of forks?!! I had to tell her don't bother as we were in the process of checking out. Overall, we had a great vacation and we'll certainly be returning. It's a great value, relaxing and now that they have a spa certainly worth dealing with some minor inconveniences.
