Took a chance on Tammy Coe Cakes, and unfortunately I was disappointed as a 1st time customer. I came in and ordered a cake on a Friday for a co-worker. I told the girl at the counter what I was looking for (just a red velvet cake w/ white frosting and a simple message on top of the cake). I informed her I would be in on the following Wednesday to pick it up at 730a. However, when I came in on that Wednesday they had no cake for me (even though it was already paid for). The girl informed me there was a misunderstanding and they thought I wanted to pick up the cake that evening. The girl working the counter was very kind and apologetic and offered for the cake to be delivered to my work. Once the cake arrived later that morning, I was even more disappointed. It just did not meet my expectations. It looked sloppy and rushed. I figured as long as the cake tasted great, it would be no big deal, but it definitely didn't. The frosting was decent, but the cake itself tasted dry and not freshly made. I ordered red velvet, and even though the cake was red on the inside it didn't taste like a traditional red velvet cake. It was embarrassing giving this cake to co-worker and I was extremely disappointed that I spent $45 on a small cake. When you go to a specialty bakery store, you expect their cakes to be top-notch, since you are paying for top notch quality work and ingredients. Definitely will not be back to order cakes!
