Istanbul Sofra is an outstanding Middle Eastern restaurant. Everything I have tried here has been tasty and well prepared. An interesting hot appetizer is "Cigarette Borek", phyllo rolls stuffed with warm feta cheese. There are always daily specials to try. The Izgara Kofte was excellent on one visit. On another I selected Adana Kebab and found it tasty as well. Mains are served over rice. Try a slice of Revani (semolina cake with orange syrup and walnuts) for dessert. Don't forget to order a Turkish Tea. Istanbul Sofra is on our list when visiting Pittsburgh.
Istanbul Sofra can fill up quickly. I recommend making a reservation. Alcoholic beverages are not served, but patrons may bring a bottle of wine (corkage fee).
