  • I was ecstatic when I heard Uniqlo will be opening up in Toronto. I have been a huge fan of this Japanese retailer when I first visited a store in Sapporo, Japan during my vacation. Of course, I had to visit the store on their opening day and I expected a line because anything new that opens in Toronto gets a little hyped up. On the first day, I waited around 5 minutes in line just to get in the store. The employees were extremely busy as many were running around. The store itself was pretty big and I liked the layout too being two floors. The design is the same for any uniqlo store in the world. I have not seen this many people in a Uniqlo store before. They had the products that were advertised in their look book from parkas, flannels, heattech, blocktech, jeans, etc. I was sad that they didn't have any UTs or more work out clothing since they were promoting their winter products. They had impressive amount of stock. Fitting rooms and cashier lineups were super long. They had enough employees though to handle these lines effectively. However, it does get hot in the store because of the numerous amounts of lighting as I was sweating wearing my jacket. Why am I a fan of Uniqlo? I am a true believer of their heattech technology as it works. I've worn heattech for almost more than 5 years and I've been warm during -40 celsius weather. I've recently went on a trip where it was very windy while wearing blocktech and it works. They also have a neat little corner called "Uniqlo meets Toronto" where they collab with local Canadian business. Nowadays, there is no lineup and the hype has died down. Pricing is fair and affordable. They usually change up their sale specials every Thursday. I definitely recommend you to check this brand out.
