  • What a highly unfortunate place. Two stars for sort of feeding my stomach on a night with horrendous weather where every other restaurant was closed in the area and for the nice bartender, but two stars for leaving me $80 poorer, still hungry, and confused as to how this dark, damp bladder of a place even exists. It was a good thing that I drank a giant beer before getting my food and managed to get slightly tipsy, because the tremendous wait time would otherwise have been unbearable. We got the beef pappardelle, which, while not inedible, could have maybe been enough food for a small cat with cancer. Our other entree, a supposed house special, was the pan-fried rabbit, which just tasted tough and dry. The whole thing was covered in two giant pieces of wet lettuce, obviously rinsed in the sink right before adorning our plate. Was this supposed to be the salad component of the dish, or was it supposed to serve as a canapy cover to hide the scabby rabbit leg? We will never know. The saddest part of this establishment may have been the fact that it tried to be an "open air" kitchen, where you could see the cooks prepare your meal. Now, why anyone would want to watch two young, dumpy looking American amateurs hold a conversation with each other while only half paying attention to the food that they were burning in the pan or groping out of plastic containers with their bare hands is beyond me, but I had a feeling that I knew how the food would taste before it even arrived in front of me. After we left this place, we went straight to a diner and ordered a burger and fries for $7. We tried not to think about how we could have instead eaten 11 orders of burgers and fries instead of our previous meal.
