This place is no-frills. In fact, years ago it WAS a No Frills.
The Broadview Loblaws is designed nothing like the Carlton or Queen West locations and hasn't been updated since it's No Frills days. Very basic bakery, butcher counter and cheese section which hardly qualifies its high grocery prices. (No mighty cheese wall to be seen.)
Produce is the real weak link of this place: they're regularly out of stock on many staple vegetables or they're wilting and the last picks when you get there.
I've had good service with the butchers when asking for a particular cut of meat. They went into the back and happily prepared it for me.
The cashiers are often spacey and you can tell management doesn't invest much time in coaching customer-service skills, but I haven't had any terrible experiences.
TIP: Check their flyer online to get a heads-up on specials including more frequent hosting tax-free days - although produce/eggs specials are sometimes sold-out by the time I get there. Womp womp.
