| - I originally purchased my car from Scott Clark Nissan 4 years ago, and have loyally brought my car there for service during that time, but that has now come to a screeching halt. Apparently if you provide honest and truthful feedback on the Nissan Corporate surveys and do not give them top notch ratings, they will ask you not to come to their dealership anymore! The point of a customer survey is to get feedback on how you are doing and how you can improve, but instead I received a call from the Service Director, Alfredo Zambrano, saying "If you are not happy with our service, then we are not the dealership for you". When I heard him say that, I was completely shocked and in utter disbelief that a manager could have such an awful perspective on customer service (this was before United Airlines started roughing up their passengers).
I had recently purchased a new van from Scott Clark Honda and had the most amazing customer service experience from my sales guy (JR DiFabio), who told me the owners of Scott Clark Auto Group stress the importance of customer service, so I thought Alfredo might be an anomaly that the folks at Scott Clark should be aware of. So I then had a long conversation with the Brand Manager at Scott Clark Auto Group, Stuart Phelps. Instead of apologizing for Alfredo's comments, Stuart admitted that they do make a practice of telling customers to take a hike if they don't write good reviews. He also promised to follow-up with me after he researched my situation more, but I never heard back from him...nor do I care to at this point. When such an awful customer service stance comes from the manager and from a representative of the parent company, you should think twice about dealing with them.
Instead, I highly recommend the service departments of Hendrick Honda and East Charlotte Nissan. Hendrick Honda gives you first class service and treats customers like VIPs, and my recent (but limited) experience with East Charlotte Nissan has been great thus far (they gave me a free loaner car, which would never happen at Scott Clark Nissan). However, if you're in the market for a Honda, I would still recommend calling JR DiFabio - he will give you the easiest and most enjoyable car buying experience you can imagine!
