| - ZYGMA is fantastic! The preface this review, my wife is Polish and I lived in Poland when I served in the Peace Corps. We live in Columbia, SC but make the drive a few times each year to stock up on Polish food.
First, the owners are helpful and hospitable. They welcome Poles with Polish, a slice of home for my wife. They make due with my "Polish" before turning to English.
The fresh meats are great. Although not a stocked as a store in Poland or a bigger city in the US, ZYGMA has a nice variety. They also have smoked and pickled herring. Got to admit, my love of pickled herring is rooted in my Peace Corps days.
ZYGMA also has a slew of childhood favorites (candy, cookies, etc) that my wife likes and enjoys sharing with our daughters. They also have a variety of juices, specifically Tymbark.
The frozen pierogi and pyzy are great! We load up a older of these each time we go! The selection of teas and spices is solid. The jars of veggies and such as good as well.
Finally, the selection of beer is good. They seem to bring in new beers about once per year. As a result, I have had the regulars (Warka, Lomza, Zywiec), but I have also had Polish craft beers. Picked up some Wasocz today. I tend to stock up on the beer.
Point is: ZYGMA is a great place for Polish food! This is a legit slice of Poland nestled in Pineville, NC!
