| - The food is good, one of the better places to get Great Dane food in the area. The service, however, is only ok. I went in one night to after work and was looking for food and a beer after a long day. The bar wasn't full. I was seated, along with two other people, and two college girls at the end of the bar. That night, while I sat down, ordered a beer, mentioned that I was interested in food, ordered food, sat there and ate, paid, and finally left, the bartender said NINE words to me. "Maybe he was just keeping it professional?" No. I work in the service industry. You cannot have a quality or in any form good customer experience without saying more than 9 words the entire night. "Maybe he just wasn't a chatty person?" No. He was talking up the two college girls at the end of the bar the entire night, conversations, hitting on them, giving them free drinks left and right. They were there before I sat down, but while I was there, they didn't pay for a single drink, and the alcohol was flowing. It was clear that this bartender was using the Great Dane resources to try and get into these girls' pants, and was ignoring other customers to get to his desired destination.
Now to explain how this could happen and The Great Dane could still get 3 stars. I have been in the service industry long enough to know that one sleezeball does not reflect on the ENTIRE restaurant, or restaurant group. The food at this location is pretty good. I'm sure the entire staff does not share this one douche of a bartender's customer service philosophy. So I won't punish the entire restaurant for one ass of a bartender.
