  • I've gone to Peculiar Rabbit on a few different occasions- brunch, lunch, dinner, just drinks- you name it. The view from the rooftop is pretty amazing and the restaurant is in a convenient location if you're in the Plaza Midwood area here in Charlotte, BUT THATS ABOUT. SIDE NOTE: There are gems in the area that actually are worthy of your time, money, and patronage (for ex: SOUL GASTROLOUNGE, WORKMAN'S FRIEND, shoot- even THE DIAMOND DINER) HOWEVER, the service at PECULIAR RABBIT has always been inconsistent, questionable, and sub-par despite the day and the time I have decided to go. That brings me to my most recent and unforgettable experience with this sorry excuse for an establishment. This evening, I submitted an online order through YelpEat24 app. I received an order confirmation, notifying me that the order was received by the merchant, Peculiar Rabbit, and that my order would be ready for pick-up in a 10-45 min time window- FIRST, what kinda time range is that? (RED FLAG along with the other past experiences I should have taken into consideration). I decided to go pick up my order after about 25 minutes. I arrive to the restaurant and I wait about 5 min for the hostess. Kate, hopefully you were somewhere giving someone else proper service. After greeting her, and telling her that I was there to pick-up my to go order that I had put in and received confirmation for about 30 minutes ago, she told me that they were no longer using the YelpEat24 app. And that they no longer had the items I ordered. Ok, Peculiar Rabbit, I got questions- none of which Kate had answers for apparently when I was there. Why do you have the menu online? And if you aren't using YelpEat24, why do they have your menu up? Why haven't you contacted anyone sooner about updating the menu? Why was my order confirmed? Why did I have to come all the way to the restaurant for someone to tell me that my order could not be processed, despite notification that it was being made? Why did Kate give me an explanation conveniently different from the explanation she gave the YelpEat24 customer representative and the one she gave me? Why did Kate tell me there wasn't a manager or another person I could escalate this issue to? Who in the world is running the restaurant? Alledgedly, NO ONE. Last question, when are you guys gonna get it together? I am not surprised Peculiar Rabbit is trying to pass off blame, or has no answer for its horrible service, or lack thereof- it has become a pattern that i will no longer doubt or question, and probably will always consider JANKY. I'm honestly not sure if the management at this place will ever figure it out- but hopefully something changes.
