  • Midwood Smokehouse claims to be Eastern NC Style Barbeque. I know not. I had their Barbeque Sandwich, this evening and was not impressed. Though it was my first visit, I was expecting, at least a mediocre sandwich, at best. What I first discovered, was a bread sandwich, with a small amount of pork barbeque, atop a 4" bun. The barbeque tasted less than mediocre. True Eastern NC Barbeque is from the WHOLE HOG, not from butts and/or shoulders. I don't mind paying $8 for a great sandwich; but one that was so disappointing as this one was, I wouldn't pay $4 for it. Also, the crinkle-cut fries were cold. You'd think that for $8, they'd cut fresh taters and fry them. I suggest doing your homework about NC Style Barbeque. Seasoned Apple-Cider Vinegar is used and it's Chopped.
