The first time I came a few years ago, I got the steak frites. It was hard to chew and too dry. If you're the type who loves to eat meat or steak because it's meat or steak, then it's a good deal for lunch.
I went there again recently for dinner as a vegetarian and got a sandwich. I got the avocado BLT without bacon. It came with bacon. I didn't complain and just took it out and ate half of the very plain sandwich. It wasn't exciting so I focused more on talking with my friends. My vegetarian friend also got a salad because she couldn't find anything that looked good. Their menu is primarily meat dishes or sandwiches. I wish they had more hearty or creative vegetarian options which seems to be normal on most menus these days.
Lunch hour was very quiet and empty.
It's the kind of place that gets a loud buzz when a lot of people are there so I couldn't really hear my friends. I wouldn't suggest taking a date there during the weekend.
The ambience is that of an upscale pub which is good for Monroe street.
