  • It is tough for me to write this review because Dr. Koppikar and his staff are so nice and welcoming and for awhile, I did have some good experiences hence the 2 stars. However, something kept telling me that something was off and I needed to switch dentists and I am so thankful I did. I went to Dr. Koppikar every six months for over three years, with my last visit being just over six months ago. The first few times I either had no work to be done or it was minimal. However, the last couple of times I went, something just didn't seem right. I went from having a no cavities one visit to having 10 within six months. Now, I know this can happen and I will admit I have a sweet tooth, however, I brush and floss 2+ times a day and it seemed odd. However, I trusted Dr. Koppikar and his staff so I did not question it. Over the course of a few months, I got my fillings. One actually turned out to be to the point it needed a root canal. After discussing this with both my sister-in-law (a dental hygienist in Colorado) and my best friends dad (a dentist in Kansas), both were very skeptical. In hindsight, I should of gotten a copy of my x rays and had them take a look. Looking back on the past three years I now notice a lot of red flags I should of caught--whenever I had cleanings and exams but no x rays (my insurance only covers x rays once a year), Dr. Koppikar would always suggest braces or crowns on a bunch of teeth that looked like they were "wearing down from grinding my teeth". Anywho, fast forward to today when I went to my new dentist. The hygienist noticed I had two areas in my mouth that had fillings (both from Dr. Koppikar) that were super uneven and rough looking. In addition, I told my new dentist about my tooth that still hurts after the root canal Dr. Koppikar did and he fixed it within a minute (the crown didn't sit against my bottom teeth well and my mouth was uneven). Lastly, there is no sign of me wearing down my teeth to the point of getting a bunch of crowns. I know mistakes happen but four? Ehhh...I think I will stick with my new awesome and honest dentist!
