Such a hidden gem. In a (mostly) residential area with a few restaurants, you wouldn't think to find a nice hair salon but off the main drag lies Motive. It is very cute and decorated so well with classic pieces yet it was modern with bold and contrasting colors. The space is small; there are only about 4-5 chairs and 2-3 shampoo stations. There is hardly any room to wait here so it's probably best to schedule an appointment; although I'm not sure they even take walk-ins.
When I came here, I was greeted and offered something to drink. After that, no one cared to tell me how long until my stylist would see me. I was kind of expecting "so and so (or someone) will be with you in a few minutes," but instead was ignored so it left me confused. After a while, my stylist finally came out and took care of me.
I'm not picky with my haircuts so the cut I received was great. The care and detail my stylist took to cut my hair was also much appreciated. However, it was expensive. I figured a small place like this would charge higher than a discount salon but I didn't think it would be over $50. I was kind of expecting around the $30-40 range for just a haircut. But I can't complain if that's all I'm spending a few times a year.
Overall, I would come here again for the small business vibe and the trendy atmosphere.
