| - Bought a Groupon for a couple's massage here. Called a week and a half before it expired and was told we would not be able to get in any day in that time period because they have a limit on how many customers they will take with groupon at a time. Our Groupon said the $115 value never expires, and their website says a regular couples massage is $125. We called and asked the receptionist if we still stuck with the couple's massage, would it only be an additional $10? She said yes. We make our appointment for one day after the Groupon expires since we weren't allowed to come in and use in beforehand. We come in, no money is collected up front and price is not discussed with us. We go back, get our massage, which was extremely light and not great. It felt like someone just rubbed oil on me for an hour. Actually not even an hour because we weren't taken back till 1:05 and our massage was over at 1:55 (10 minutes short). I wasn't even upset that the massage wasn't good because I am not someone to complain about something like that and realize that different people have different preferences. However, then we walk out to pay and she tells us the price, which had a $43 fee attached to it. I asked her what that was for, and she says "because your Groupon expired." I asked her why that mattered since the $115 value never expires and your massages are $125? She said the value can't be applied to the $125 because that's "our own special" and I have to pay a fee. That makes absolutely zero sense. Don't put your business on Groupon if you are going to put limitations on when people can come in and redeem it, without advertising that, and additionally not really honor the fact that the value never expires by attaching additional fees. It is also very upsetting when one employee tells us ahead of time that it is only $10 more. If there was supposed to be an additional fee, that should have been discussed with us ahead of time and money should have been collected before the massage, not afterwards when I had no choice but to pay it. I would not have done the couples massage if I had known ahead of time it would be that much. That massage was absolutely not worth $160 before gratuity.
