| - My friend and I ate lunch at La Casa Narcisi Winery last weekend. The area is beautiful and definitely worth the drive from the city. Seating area outside was outstanding, especially because there was good shade from the sun most of the time.
We stopped into the winery first to taste some wines before choosing one to drink with our lunch. I've never had Narcisi's wine before, so I was excited to try both whites and reds. Unfortunately (and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars) you can only taste 3 wines. As someone who likes both whites and reds and especially because I was obviously going to buy SEVERAL bottles, I think you should be able to sample as many as you want. Maybe still give a max number but it should certainly be more than 3!
We decided on the Niagara (sweeter white) and headed out to the outside seating area. I ordered the caprese salad and margherita pizza. My friend ordered the bruschetta trio and the gnocchi pomodoro. Our waitress brought us oil and bread to snack on as well.
The food was fantastic. Fresh basil and mozzarella make a big difference. The pizza had a very nice crispy crust with great flavor. I had left overs for a whole meal. My friend enjoyed her meal and also had left overs.
The service, while a bit slow, was fantastic. It was so nice and calm sitting in the outside area I never wanted to leave. We did, however, because I wanted to buy a few bottles of wine. The winery was sooo busy! The wait still wasn't very long and I was pleased with all of my purchases (already gone :P). There was a long wait for the restroom, but they have signs posted explaining that they are in the process of remodeling this area to be much, much bigger.
A note: this place is PERFECT for groups...bachelorette parties, showers, birthday parties. I'm definitely keeping in mind for future events.
All in all an extremely pleasant experience. I cannot wait to go back.
