  • I don't know what happened to common sense, but my local USPS PO has little to none. When a package is out for delivery from other than my usual carrier, these folks not only do not attempt to ring the bell or otherwise alert me to a delivery, but they do not even come to the door to leave the package so that it will both: be protected from the weather under the porch overhang and I need not put on my overcoat and shoes and go out into bad weather to retrieve a now soggy package. Speaking to the supervisor results in them agreeing that is a poor practice, but it does not resolve the issue. Wherever possible, I encourage those shipping packages to me to use any other service...
