  • I'm going to have to echo the sentiments of a number of people here; New Tribe is an insular community of surly artistes who are in no way interested in you, your tattoo/piercing or sales. Quiet Tribe? Inhibited Tribe? Whatever. And maybe that's for the better. I'm sure at some point the staff here exercised a certain amount of intrigue. I know I would. I'm sure I would have asked the guy leaving as I was arriving last time what the deeper meaning behind his newly inked 18 inch tall naked woman in roller skates playing with a sex toy was. And maybe people get stand-offish when they don't have good answers to those questions. So maybe they stopped asking. I feel like you have to give them the benefit of the doubt here and at least assume that they didn't all start out angry and inflexible. Here's the thing; I think with this type of job, wherein they are selling immense permanence, comes a certain level of psychological support that consumers seek. They're about to be tattooed. That's forever, man. Or in my case a cover-up job away. But still. I've been tattooed at New Tribe 8 times over the past number of years. Some of these tattoos are highly regrettable but not for the quality of work or cost; more so because I was 18 and Kanji symbols were all the rage. Now, not so much. When it comes down to it, New Tribe has what really matters- a hospital-clean environment. That's what's most important here. Not customer service, not suggestive selling, nothing. Safety first, people. Safety first. What I do recommend is the quality of the work. You really can't go wrong. And they've been there forever. Like definitely since Electric Circus rocked Queen & John every weekend. If you want an appointment, I believe you more or less have to go in in person to book it and leave a deposit. Understandable because no two tattoos are alike. Like, I'm sure that when I get an 18 inch tall naked woman in roller skates playing with a sex toy tattooed to my back, it'll be different from that other guy. Like maybe she'll be wearing a cute sailor hat or something.
