| - My brand new formal dress is ruined. The day before my performance I had to figure out something else to wear. I was excited about my gown--the underneath layer was a perfect floor-length, but the sheer top layer was considerably way too long so I took it in for that to be hemmed. To my utter horror, somebody shortened the underneath layer!!!! Even though it was not part of the job, had not been ordered by me, nor even pinned! They cut it off and hemmed it at calf-length. I cannot express how upsetting that was. The bottom of my dress was gone!!!! Rae said she would dig through the scraps to find the bottom of my dress and that it would be sewn back on the next day. So now I'm left with a stupid, wrinkled seam running around my dress and have lost the full, perfect length of my dress because of their mistake. Plus I still got charged! Unbelievable! They implied it was a gift to me that I wasn't being charged to put back onto the dress what shouldn't have been touched anyway. But what really added sting to top off this fiasco, Rae implied that my body shape was the problem. That the worker presumed the underneath should be hemmed because she hadn't seen me and wouldn't have known I wasn't slender in the hips.(!) Btw, the work tag was unsigned so I'm pretty darn sure the person knew they screwed up and it had nothing to do with my hips. Nothing like taking a brand new gown, ruining it, then insulting you for having hips, and then charging you for your now ruined dress. My performance was the next day. I just couldn't bring myself to wear that dress and went with a back-up dress. This was a really terrible experience. I doubt I'll ever feel happy wearing that gown. Not sure I can trust this business again. I mean, I've been there before without problems, but do I now need to tell them what NOT to do in addition to what they're supposed to do???
