| - I usually love fat heads, and our recent experience was a bit of a mixed bag!
Started at the bar for about two hours, but we had a large party so we expected a bit of a wait. Everyone seemed to enjoy the beers which was good as they have a great lineup.
We got a bunch of appetizers, fried mushrooms, fried pickles, onion rings, and a soft pretzel (notice the fried theme here!?) the batter had a little spice to it, which was really delicious, and all of the accompanying sauces like honey mustard and a spicy sauce were awesome. Overall the apps did not disappoint.
Then we got to our table. Everyone ordered a variety of different things. Sister had the voodoo burger which she said was delicious. I ordered the brisket at the recommendation of our server. It was OK. Honestly the brisket lacked much flavor so I was a little disappointed in that. The sandwich came with French onion soup for dipping, and was smothered on onions and an aioli. It just didn't do it for me something was off about the taste and it may have been the aioli or the lack of taste of the brisket. My other sister got the pulled pork and said it also did not have a lot of flavor to it. A few others that were with us loved theirs, others not so much, so overall it was hit or miss. Still a south side staple so I'll be back, would likely just try something else!
