  • AllStar Heating and Cooling LLC came this am and said my AC wasn't working because my condensate pump was broken and that was not covered by my home warranty. They told me a new pump was $475 and that I would have to cut a hole in my wall to get to the pump. I told him I thought my home inspector showed us the pump through the intake grate when it was removed. He said no, it was not accessible there. Left me with no AC (August in Phoenix, young kids, husband out of town) So I called a local handyman to come by and he opened up the intake grate, reached in, took out the pump tray, emptied it and the entire AC system works just fine. Took 5 minutes. So disappointing and so glad I did not cut a hole in our home and pay $475 to empty a small tray of water (on top of the $80 I already paid to the home warranty company for them to come out in the first place).
