| - This is a great little gym, just feet from both my office and home (yes, I'm one of those lazy people who choose to live blocks from work so I can roll out of bed at the last possible minute).
The staff are friendly and helpful, the equipment is plentiful, new and clean. There isn't much floor space in the machine room (you often need to take your free weights/ balance ball into the classes room so you're not in someone's way), so when classes are happening I I think it could get very busy/ crowded when they get more members. Changing rooms are a bit startling - look like something out of a ritzy spa vs. a gym!
I'm not sure what their classes will be like, as they only just opened and haven't gotten their schedule together yet. They mentioned TRX, Spin, Zumba and Yoga as likely, however.
Right now they're offering specials, so they are pretty affordable - if you buy a year membership. Month to month it's $70 otherwise!
I've asked about drop-in, which they offer for $12, but they say they'll discontinue that once they get more members so as to give 'priority' to them :(
Unfortunately, I won't be one. While the staff were wonderfully helpful during my free trial week, and the location is amazing, I already know I won't use it enough to justify the expense, especially since I think it's going to be far too packed for my preferences.
Might be really good, however, for people who live in the Hillhurst/Sunnyside area, like hitting the gym pretty much daily, are ok with being a bit crowded, and are looking for somewhere with a local feel to it.
