| - Welcome! You are not a stranger !
We encourage you to worship with us any day we
have services. We center our worship on the
service of Holy Communion in which we give our
thanks to God and participate in an active event of
praise. If you have any questions about our prayer
book, our friendly parishioners will be glad to help.
Please let us know if we can be of assistance with
any special needs.
Postures in Church-
You are welcome to sit, stand or kneel, as you
are able. Don't think you have to keep up with
everyone else - just be comfortable.
Communion -
As a baptized Christian, you are welcome to
receive Holy Communion. Baptized children may
also receive communion. Adults and youth who
have not been baptized may come forward and
receive a blessing.
Becoming a Member -
One of the ushers will give you an information
card. Please take a moment to fill it out and return
it to us either in the offering plate or to an usher on
your way out. A member of our Newcomer
Ministry will contact you by phone or in person,
whichever you designate.
Church News -
In addition to the announcements during
service, we offer a monthly newsletter - The
Preparer - to help parishioners keep updated with
church events and news. You can request to be
added to the mailing list or view the latest edition
on line at www.stjohnsaz.org. Please also visit our
Fan and Group Facebook pages (linked from our
website homepage).
Hospitality -
There are a lot of opportunities to
serve one another and our guests.
Whether it's serving as a kitchen
angel or helping in the nursery, there
are plenty of ways to get involved.
Education -
The Education ministry includes
Bible study groups, youth ministries,
a sermon group and special
presentations.
Altar -
Good speakers are welcome as
Lectors and good singing voices are
of great benefit to our Choirs. The
Altar Guild, Chalice Bearers,
Acolytes, Ushers and Greeters are
valuable and needed at all Services.
Response (Special Activities)
There are many social groups to join,
from highway clean up to the potluck
team. Our Youth Group enlightens
the younger generation to the
teachings of the Church. Please see
our website for a full list of groups.
Technical -
We collect unwanted cell phones,
computers, monitors, and eye glasses
and give them to those in need
