  • Not a good introduction to this place, some muttonhead managed to change my reservation date to the day *before* I arrived, and I had to haul out my computer at the desk and show them the confirmation email to prove otherwise (after waiting 15 minutes) to get them to honor it. Not so much as an apology after all that. I won't nuke the place from orbit just for one dangerously incompetent person in the reservations department and one iffy desk clerk but it was a bad look and makes me think real hard about ever booking here again. Setting all that aside - the basic rooms are not bad, but look like they were luxury when first built in the late 70s / early 80s and are fading but have been kept up decently. $50-60 at a discount (booked thru hotels.com or using your B Connected card thru their website) is pushing it though, I feel like the $80-100 they more normally charge is kind of outrageous for this. Does have the advantage of being downtown but the farthest property away from noisy Fremont speakers and drunkies tho. Good buffet on site and Aloha Specialties is an easy trip off the walkway over to the California Hotel. Apparently they have a fitness center in the California now and guests of the Main Street can use it ... would have been nice if the desk volunteered this information rather than reading about it on Yelp after checking out :( Crap TV selection. Same as California Hotel. Vegas downtown casino standard. No resort fee = no free wifi in room, though it is free to all on the casino floor. Head to Aloha or the little coffee/ice cream shop area on the walkway if you need it, or sit in the California Hotel lobby. It's OK if you can get a decent rate but I rarely see decent rates here. One last brotip - checkout is at noon (per sign at the lobby desk), but as with the California the booking sites all list it as 11 for some reason.
