| - Is it super weird that I'm Yelping about a hospital? Maybe, but that just goes to show how impressed I was with St. Mary's! My sister-in-law gave birth to my adorable nephew at St. Mary's and I was blown away by the cleanliness and modern feel. It felt like I was a hotel, not a hospital! There were cascading waterfalls, outdoor gardens (granted, it wasn't open when we went in the dead of Wisconsin winter), and so much more! I admit I don't have many hospitals to compare it to, but it had that flooring that looks like hardwood, but it's not actually hardwood, and a nice family lounge were we ate our takeout Chinese food (come on, what else is open on Christmas Eve?) The food court was really nice with a variety of options (they had a whole turkey meal with all the fixings on Christmas Day, but they also had sandwiches, fruit, etc. for the other health conscious people like me). And, I don't know if this is the norm for hospitals, but they gave her a double bed, so my brother could even sleep with my sister-in-law, with their newborn in sight. The staff was super friendly and they even gave my nephew a green and red knit hat -- the perks of being a Christmas baby! :)
I would seriously consider moving, at least temporarily, to Madison just to give birth to my unborn child at St. Mary's!
