  • I went to Vegas for NYE, and at a house party the night before met some folks who suggested I satiate my Cigar tastes at En Fuego. Granted, I went to the wrong one, not realizing there were two locales, but I enjoyed this locale just fine. I go to Magnums in Phoenix and always welcome a new cigar place in a new city. The drive: I entered the parking lot which is located a bit awkwardly in a strip mall near a bridge. Overall it was pretty easy to find (And who doesn't use a map locator device in a new city anymore). First Impressions: I walked in and looked around, taking in my surroundings. This place looked like it was around for a long time, comfortable leather chairs set in front of two flat screens on one wall. Cigar ashtrays are located conveniently near each seat and have a lighter at the ready for use. to the back left of the room, a wood enclosed room where I assume they rolled their house brand cigars. none were rolling that day, but there was a sign near it. In front of the 'rolling room' were some microphones and headsets. I didn't know what they were for, so I made up my own story about it being an old 'Listening station for the FBI in the '50's'. Yep, over-active imagination, check. To the right rear of the building is a cashier's station and a soda cooler where customers can purchase a (non-alcoholic) beverage for themselves. To the center rear of the building is a glass door that opens up into the magic room. The room that smells strongly of leather and cedar. The room that makes the whole establishment operate, the humidor! Let's get to the smoke. Impressions: First, let's talk about the atmosphere. It's Vegas, all sorts of people are there. I showed up not knowing what to expect, and was welcomed in. A gentleman with a Bostonian accent started talking to me about sports. He's been a regular there for a while and everyone there was friendly. The TV switched between football games depending on who wanted to watch, and being that it was a playoff weekend, we ended up watching the teams that mattered. It was a great atmosphere for a guy who just walked in off the street from Phoenix. Next, the cigars. They have a moderate selection at the Sahara store. You can find your Rocky's, Oliva's, Padrons and other major brands there. I would recommend you focus your sights stage center however. In the back of the humidor are the house blend cigars. These hand rolled beauties have a robust, earthy flavor that made me smile. I felt the price point was more than fair, and it was good enough that I bought two more to take home with me for my friends at my home bar. Finale: The atmosphere is awesome and represents a good man cave. I enjoyed myself there. I may have gone to the wrong one initially, but in either case, they are fantastic. I will be back if I find my boots in Vegas again!
