  • I had not heard of this sanctuary until a former colleague mentioned it to me. I was looking for summer camps for my kiddo and she suggested HFS. What a beautiful experience! Located on the far west side on an amazing amount of farmland, Heartland Farm specifically is a rescue and sanctuary for traditional (and some non traditional) farm animals! I signed my kiddo up for the weeklong camp and he took to it IMMEDIATELY! The full days kept him busy working on the farm, feeding and caring for the animals, playing games with the other kids (of course) and spending beautiful summer days out on this farm, doing hands on work! In addition to the camps for kids, HFS also hosts many community events and opportunities for you to come out and meet the animals and staff! This sanctuary is better visited than described, so I strongly suggest you check out the website and have a visit to Heartland Farm Sanctuary!
