| - Festival is not free and not big, but totally worth a visit. I am a sucker for Indian food, drink, dance, and music. Plus who doesn't love taking photos in saris and getting gorgeous henna tattoos?
Two packed blocks of food vendors with even sweets and drinks I haven't seen before, along with many of the favorite traditional dishes, breads, and even TCBY! This was all for purchase with cash-only and required no entrance fee.
Another two or so blocks of decadent clothing, jewelry, and accessories. Again, free to browse, but on this side many of the intricate and hand made items were far too expensive for products I just won't have any occasion to wear.
$6-7 to get into the Belk theater with some art, educational materials, the standard sponsor booths where you can learn about new banking products or get free cheap pens/food/trinkets, photos with saris and in traditional wedding paraphernalia, henna, and love performances by mostly children and young adult dance troupes (but others, too). The henna and performances were great, and the theater bathrooms are always clean, but the rest alone probably isn't worth the entrance fee...
