I chose Emporium Nails for my mani+pedi (booked in advance) because of its proximity to my home and the decent reviews on Yelp. The place turned out to be a huge disappointment! I selected their Bella mani+pedi, which is their better spa-like service (better products and longer massage, as I was explained). Ended up spending $58+$10tip for $68 dollars total and walked out with the worst hands and feet I've had in awhile. I actually had to ask them to give me some hand lotion before leaving because my hands felt so dry and tight.
Other problems:
-poor selection of colors, and many of the ones available are old and thick - I ended up asking the lady to apply my own color that i brought just in case;
-the cuticle clippers used on my nails were not sharp enough, and the lady had a hard time removing my cuticle neatly; I ended up with rough leftover cuticle pieces at the base of my nails because of the dull clippers and the complete lack of English speaking skills of the technician (for this very reason I do not even know her name);
-the polish was applied unevenly and leaked on my finger nails - I had to remove it the next day and reapply myself; it is beyond my understanding why someone who paints nails all day, every day, cannot do a decent job of painting;
-by the pedicure time, I was pretty much given up on this place! she hardly removed any callus from my soles, and my feet looked not much better than before my appointment; I also took care of callus removal the next day myself at home; Seriously, the soles of my feet looked like I did not have a pedi at all!
Bottom line, paying almost $70 for a service that I had to completely redo myself is a no-no in my book. I felt very disappointed and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money or go some place else.
