  • I've been to Good Fortune Bar several times. I want to give it a good review because it's a nice spot to grab a drink in my neighbourhood. The bar staff and servers have always been friendly. There's a good beer selection. The Yonge and Eglinton area needs more nice bars, and I hope Good Fortune Bar survives. I went there this past Saturday night. For some reason, the bouncer made my friend and I (both in our 40s) stand at the top of the stairs for 4 to 5 minutes. In the past, we've walked right down. He said it was busy and that a hostess needed to seat us. We were going to leave but decided to wait it out. A hostess came by and said she didn't need to seat us. We went downstairs to the bar and it was dead - hardly anyone there! There was absolutely no reason for the bouncer to keep us waiting and lie about it being busy. That was insulting. We stayed for a drink and then went down the street to Prohibition which was livelier and had a better vibe. I'll return to Good Fortune Bar because I've only had one negative experience there and, as mentioned, I hope it survives.
