| - The worst...liars, thieves, con artists, manipulators, criminals...there are not enough negative words to describe this dealership. I guess I should start from the beginning. I wanted to buy my husband a car for his birthday. He initially wanted to go to a used car lot on Boulder Highway and only spend $5000. I said no, I wanted to buy a certified pre-owned car so that we could have peace of mind. I didn't want to have to worry about things needing to be fixed constantly, etc. I had bought my own Toyota Camry as a certified pre-owned car and it has served me beautifully. I knew that with a certified car, they had done the inspection and had ensured the buyer that everything was in excellent condition. We ended up going to Courtesy Imports. I liked the idea of buying a Kia because it had that 10 year warranty. My husband requested the salesman El because his brother in law had used him and his brother in law was happy. That was my first problem. I had a false sense of security working with El because he was recommended to us. I should never have trusted him. He showed us a lot of cars that we didn't like. Finally there was a car that my husband was interested in. It was a 2014 Kia Sportage. It had 10,000 miles on it. We took it for a test drive and I heard a clicking sound. I asked El what that was. He minimized it saying it was something that just came loose when they moved it. It should be nothing to tighten up. I told El that we really were just looking. We didn't really want to buy that night. He told us that we will just look at my credit rating. I was curious so I said ok. Big mistake!! Do not let them take you inside. Once inside the high pressure sales pitch came on...Anyway, I was pressured into buying the car. I said that I wanted them to check out that clicking sound and I would leave the car there for the maintenance department. El insisted that I take the car home and bring it back on Monday morning for insurance reasons. (It was Saturday night.) Anyway, they contacted my husband and told him that the car needed a whole new engine. I thought, What? The whole reason for buying a certified car was for the assurance that it was in top condition and now we find out that the car needs a whole new engine. What else is wrong with the car? I thought they had done an inspection and showed us the checklist. Does that mean I'm going to have to bring this car into the service department every week? This was suppose to be a certified car!!! I wanted out of the deal. To me, they had committed fraud. They refused to let us out. The manager, Kem, said he would try his hardest to get us out of the deal and put us in a different car. He called us back in to the dealership. He had "good news and bad news." They couldn't let us out of the deal but he could get us into a different car. We paid $19,500 for the car including the taxes and fees. He wrote up that we were trading the car in for $17,000. I said, what do you mean? I haven't even driven it off the lot...he said yes, you did. That was for one day. In one day, I lost $2500? So, not only were we going to pay for a brand new Kia Sportage, but he was tacking on an additional $2500 for the original car. I asked him how this was good news? Anyway, fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me. I didn't go for the "deal." I wanted to save other people from going through the same thing I went through. They are horrible thieves. My recommendation is to not even set foot into the dealership. They are manipulative con men!! If I had the money, I would sue them!!
