| - We stayed at the Residence Inn Tempe Downtown for three nights while participating in the Rock n Roll Half Marathon. This was our second trip to Tempe, and our first to stay at the Residence Inn. We will definitely stay again, and definitely recommend this hotel. They picked us up at the airport (complimentary shuttle), and upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful woman at the front desk. Her name was Ebony. Ebony was so personable, spent time with us answering any questions we might have, and recommended some restaurants that we could walk to for dinner. The location of this hotel could not have been better. We were able to walk to many wonderful restaurants, and check out the cute shops. Tempe is a college town, but we middle aged folks blend right in. Our room was great! We had reserved a studio, and were lucky enough to be upgraded to a corner one bedroom suite. Everything was spotless. The bed was really comfortable, and the linens were nice. Breakfast in the morning is serve yourself and complimentary. It is not just a continental breakfast. There was waffle mix to make your own fresh waffle, along with all the fresh fruits and toppings for the waffle. They served scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, fresh fruit (blueberries, strawberries, pineapple), yogurts, an assortment of muffins, assortment of breads to toast, orange juice, soft drinks, coffee and tea. The hotel has a wonderful roof top pool, Jacuzzi, and fire pit. Unfortunately we did not have time to enjoy it. During out stay, I had run out of toothpaste, and was going to purchase a small tube from them. The desk clerk said oh no, I will give you some complimentary packets. When it was time to depart for the airport, we were given another complimentary ride back to the airport by the Residence Inn Shuttle.
