This little place gets all the aspects of a perfect dining experience just right!!
Service : Very warm and friendly!! Our server was extremely sweet and explained all we needed to know and set our expectations on what to expect so there were no surprises.
Ambiance : A positive toned down template which pushes the homely feeling aspect of this food!
Food : For starters, we tried their Pork Eggrolls. The pastry was fried perfectly and was nice and flaky. The filling was very fresh and quite unique in the sense of having glass noodles incorporated into it!
For mains, we tried a Medium Spicy (Adventurous) Chicken Green Curry and a Timid Moak Pa (Catfish). My wife gave a BIG thumbs up for the green curry and was very happy that they got the heat in the dish just right. It came with a side of white rice which was steamed well.
For me, the star was my Steamed Catfish in banana leaves. This is a specialty and they do inform you that it takes an additional 15 odd mins. But oh it's so worth it!!! The minute you open that beautiful gift wrapping of banana leaves, you're greeted by this satisfying aroma of dill and lemon grass! The fish simply melts in your mouth and the acid from the lemon perfectly balances the strong dill flavor. Pair that with a gooey sticky rice and you're good to go :). By the way, I LOVE that little basket in which they give you the sticky rice. Wish I could take that away with me!!
This joint is a sure shot return trip for us and a must try for anyone else looking for a change from your typical Asian delights.
