Came here last night because my man and I had heard mixed reviews about Wahlburgers and wanted to try it for ourselves. Also, I've had a thing for Mark Wahlburg since my childhood, but don't tell my man that!
The place is a lot bigger than we expected, with a seated table-service area in the front and take out in the back and upstairs. We liked the decor; it's perfect for the area with the Skydome (or Rogers Centre, whatever) nearby because it has a more upscale sports bar vibe. Good for groups and kids too!
As for the food - I ordered the Thanksgiving burger (their turkey option) and regular tots, while my boyfriend ordered the BBQ Bacon burger with the sweet potato tots. We both really enjoyed our food. I will admit that the burgers do look a little small when you receive them (especially if you order the 5 oz. like I did), but these burgers are more about height than width and are definitely filling. The portions of tots are quite large, I had to get my boyfriend to help me out with mine. I will say that my tots were too salty and I kind of wished I ordered the sweet potato ones, as they were definitely more flavourful, but that's my own fault. I was also disappointed that there was no sparkling water and I was served tonic water instead. Yuck.
A burger and a side comes in just under $15, which is pretty standard for fancier burger places in Toronto. Not sure why so many people are complaining about the price when most are quick to shell out $12 for McDonald's and their mystery ingredients without a complaint...
Will be back.
