I obtained a storage unit here this past fall (2014). I have been out to my storage unit twice this winter and have been thoroughly dismayed. The first time I went out, I found a huge pile of snow in front of my garage storage door. I don't know who to blame for this: the snowplower or the storage company for not doing anything about this. I didn't think to bring a shovel with me--who would have? I went into the office and asked the employee if she had any shovels; she had one left, which she apparently had bought with her own money. I spent the next 1/2 hour removing the snow so that I could access my stuff.
It was the same situation the second time I went out, but there was even more snow and a layer of ice that was impossible to break. Thus, my trip to the storage facility was futile. If I've paid for a storage unit, I assume that I can access it at all times, in all conditions. This company doesn't appear to understand that they have customers who are paying them for storage AND access. The storage is fine; the access is not. As soon as I can actually reach my belongings, I'm taking my stuff out of there.
