  • A free outdoor pool in the city? Surely, this is where the skeevs and pervs hang out. Otherwise, it's too good to be true, right? Well, if they were there, I didn't notice. What I did see were kids splashing around in the shallow end and barely any swimmers in the deep end (4'4") of the rather large pool. Woo hoo! More uninterrupted laps for moi. Most of the bikini babes were poolside, working on their tans. And of course, there was a grape smuggler in his requisite speedo -- always gotta be at least one in the bunch. Overall, a surprisingly young and good-looking crowd converged here to beat the summer heat. The pool is clean and not too over-chlorinated but the change rooms and shower areas are downright depressing. It's probably best to keep your flip-flops on your feet at all times and not think about it too much. They have coin lockers to guard your stuff for 25 cents but everything else is FREE.
