| - I have been a YMCA member at several different locations over the past few years and this one falls right in the middle for me. Not the greatest Y I've been to but not the worst either. It's extremely family oriented with lots of after school programs and kids running around all the time. It has 2 full indoor basketball courts, a small cardio room with a couple rows of treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals, 2 full size rooms for aerobics and strength training classes, a decent sized weight lifting room with newer equipment, and a large indoor lap swimming pool.
Pros: the staff is very friendly, they have several good work out classes I enjoy (the body pump and body step classes are my favorite), the building is pretty spacious so you're not constantly bumping into people
Cons: the schedule for work out classes is limited and the classes fill up quick, the cardio room is small and a little cramped, the tvs in the cardio room only show sports and news channels and the only way to listen to the tvs is to tune in on a radio (which I would do if my iPhone could get a signal in the building), they don't provide sweat towels, the weight lifting area is overrun with guys and is a little intimidating for women, and the biggest con for me is they don't have racquetball courts
Overall this is a good gym. If I'm in the mood for a group exercise class I'll come here. If I just want to run on the treadmill I'll usually go to Planet Fitness down the road (at Planet Fitness I can watch better tv and actually hear it too).
