I've stayed in quite a few Hiltons and I'm a member of HHonors program. I've come to expect a certain level of quality from Hilton. This Hilton is not up to the same standard as others.
I travelled here with my boyfriend for our long awaited weekend away. The lobby is nice and appears to have been recently renovated. However, the rest of the hotel needs MAJOR work. We booked a suite. The rooms were dark and musty. The bathrooms were small. I hoped for a nice view from the balcony, but it overlooked a roof. Carpets were very old and dingy looking. The sofa in the suite seemed so worn that I didn't feel comfortable sitting on it.
The pool/lazy river gets so crowded, we didn't even bother using it. The pool is open to the public so it gets packed. It is also not well maintained or clean. If you're looking to relax by a pool, this isn't the place. It is noisy and basically meant for kids.
We weren't impressed with the restaurants in this resort. It was difficult to find ANYTHING opened on some days. Also, there aren't many places to eat in the area. There really isn't anything to do in the evening. You'd be better off staying in Scottsdale.
