| - The only good thing about this hotel, is location. It is convenient to everything downtown, and easy access to the T subway system.
There is construction going on right now, and the crews start hammering away at 7am while people are still sleeping. I work for a large general contractor, and neither Hilton, nor Marriott would EVER stand for us making that kind of noise disturbing their guests that early in the morning.
The hot water from the tap is cloudy. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they said that's how it is in Pittsburgh. Well, the hot water in PPG Place across the street isn't like that.
The drains in our room were slow and clogged. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they said they'd have someone look at it. No one ever came.
At the end of our stay, they overcharged my credit card. The front desk actually fixed the problem this time, but no apology for the error. She just printed a new bill and handed it to me, then continued doing the work she was doing before I so rudely interrupted her.
The restaurant downstairs is horrible. I went there twice, and both times, the bread was hard and just barely edible. The steak was tough, and served cold, as if they let it sit for 20 minutes before serving it to me. The chicken was okay, but a little overlooked and dry.
The Wifi signal in our room would constantly drop, then reconnect, making it unusable.
Overall, if you're staying here for a day or two, it's ok, if only for the convenience. If you need a place for longer, find someplace else.
