  • It's come to this. It's come to the point where I am writing a review about a place that most people find overrated, expensive, pretentious, snooty, (insert your own negative adjective here) and so forth. They are perhaps right, they are perhaps wrong - like a lot of things in society as a whole, everything is subjective. I will admit I am a regular patron of this brand - I will come here and purchase something every three to six months a year. I appreciate their fine industrial designs on jewelry , as does most of my female friends and even some of my metro male friends. I think that is why their products also are a little more expensive than most other places. Where else can a color dubbed Tiffany Blue bring such joy and bewilderment to a woman's eyes when you present her a bag or box containing a little trinket or two for her to wear? :) The staff are very attentive, and perhaps yes, they are stern and serious but I recognize it as professionalism which in a fine jewelry store - the first contact of presentation, the host or the sales associate - it is by design the first person you meet. Some people are not used to seeing this kind of service, because in other retail establishments there is a very casual and relaxed environment. Not at Tiffany's, which is fine because they are selling a design, they are selling a brand, they are selling a history (est. 1837) of a brand over 100 years old, they are selling a fancy lifestyle. Their staff I have always found to be very knowledgeable and honest regarding their jewelry, never have I felt neglected when shopping here. You place your name on a list, and the first person available to assist you is brought before you, they introduce themselves and ask "how can I help you today?" They don't ask, "What are you looking for today?" because there is a difference in offering assistance and asking what can they get you... The first is a more open ended question versus a more direct approach because not everyone will know what they want just yet. The after sale support is also great, as they will do free customization such as getting the proper fit for a bracelet or even the first cleaning of a dirty silver ring that you've worn for months for free. I have not been disappointed when I have shopped at Tiffany's, nor do the recipients of my purchases have been disappointed either.
