| - I've been a patient at SFH for 15-20yrs. Unfortunately, I agree with all of the bad reviews. It's been going on as long as I've been going there, but I would brush it aside since the Dr is ok.
Not anymore.
The assistants not returning calls? This has gotten better over the last few years, but I can't tell you how many times my pharmacy would fax over a subscription renewal and get no response. After two days I'd call and also get no response. And, I don't mean them calling a day or two later, I mean flat out no return call. Zip, zilch, nada.
Like I said, it's gotten better, but now the voice mail states it can take up to two days to return a call. Is that reasonable??
For the general staff, I've never had any bad encounters, per se, but they're not the most friendliest or really the most helpful I've encountered in the medical field. They just seem to do their job to get patients in and out. I really can't recall when I've ever been greeted with a "Hi" when signing in. Usually their heads are down and ask what Dr I'm there to see.
I've never had any billing problems, so I guess that's good.
The Dr I see is much more reactive than proactive with my health and the older I get the more proactive I am, and also want a Dr that's going to share that thinking.
My sentiment of acceptance with SFH changed after my recent experience.
I had an early appointment that was right in the middle of rush hour. It normally takes 25min to get there, so I left 45min early. Of course, just my luck, there was a accident on one of the main roads that screwed everything up. I ended up driving for an hour and was right at that 15min mark when I got there - I think it was actually 14min, but it doesn't matter.
I checked in and the girl at the front desk walked away. She came back and said I'd have to re-schedule and come back another time because I was 15min late. I replied that I just drove and hour in traffic to get there. She replied that I was 15min late and the medical assistant decided she won't see me because they were already backed up by three patients - it was 8am and they're already that backed up???
I told the receptionist to forget it, that I wasn't coming back.
As I write this and think about it, I've never really been satisfied with SFH overall. I've just been too lazy to change my PCP, however after this last experience I'm done with SFH.
They've lost a patient.
