I'm in love. This place is a work of art. It's a museum, cafe, bar, grocery store and lunch spot all in one! I'm a student and live further away, so I really appreciate that it's accessible through the Healthline. Parking would be very tricky here, so I would avoid it if you're coming to do what I do which is study and leave with groceries in hand (and maybe a drink if it's a Friday). They have a great selection of fresh produce and sales throughout the year. On some items you'll also see coupons to rip off to make your purchase a real steal. I noticed that the Little Italy pasta sauce was $3.99 on sale here when it retails for about $6, so I snagged some! If you look carefully you'll find a few gems in the back end of the store. The highlight of Heinen's is definitely the cheese section for me. I'm from Berkeley, CA and we love our cheese out there. This place honors cheese and I appreciate that! The secret utility I find here is that they serve delicious and smooth lattes at the cafe on the first floor (hidden in the corner behind the registers. If you grab your latte and head upstairs to the "bar" there's a plethora of comfortable seating with lots of table space and a beautiful view of the ocean blue-teal glass ceiling. Profound thoughts and non-interrupted study time comes organically.
