| - THE MAIN ST. MESA STORE-REPAIR SHOP
Took my 3 yr old carpet cleaner in to be looked at because it started leaking water out of the bottom. I have only used this cleaner 3xs and it always worked fantastic.
Well, when I called, the man on the phone said I can drop it off and the repairman will look at it and get back to me the following week.
When I got there with my machine, a few people were in front of me. The repair man sounded more like a saleman to the lady in front of me. He quickly glanced at a lady's sewing machine and told her it's too old to be fixed and the part would cost more than her machine, he then proceeded to go into the saleman pitch and took her and her husband to look at new and refurbished machines. He didn't even take her machine apart or look at it closely or turn it on..nothing.
When it was my turn, the repairman did the same thing to me. Didnt even touch it before saying how my machine was old and a lower end version and how those type of cleaners are flimsy and known to brake. And how you can get them used on Amazon for 150.00. What a bunch of B.S.
This guy is a scammer just trying to make a sale.
My carpet cleaner is the top of the line. Ranking in the top 5 in thousands of reviews on several sites, including consumer reports.
Then this guy tried selling us a newer version of the same machine for $299. Are you kidding me?
Obviously this "repairman" gets a commission on his sales. They probably offer a small credit on people's trade in and then resell them without having to do any major fixes.
He didn't fool me, but I feel bad for those that go in there for repairs that might get scammed.
I didn't go through the rest of the store, just the repairshop, so I can't comment on the actual store experience except, the store looks like it has alot of fabrics.
Im going to another repairman this week, that will actually take apart my machine with me there.
