In a school where cafes can be the mean girls with their vicious recruiting and attitude, Crema is the solid bookish friend who would stand behind you in a fight, even if you're bound to lose and get your glasses crushed.
Sure the frothy lattes vary in tastiness and often the overwhelming strangeness of the clientele can be off-putting, but the overall quality of pastries and beverages is solid. Plus they let you reload cards, have stamps and all those rewarding goodies. This Danforth location also has the best winter window seat for people watching. And I can't say any more about the delicious scones which are still good way into the next morning.
Word on the street is that Crema will start roasting their own beans rather than source from 49th Parallel (tear) but I think this means their evolution, which began when they appeared like a tumour inside several Freshiis, will finally culminate in a renaissance. I look forward to riding that wave.
